Quiet crying -- how interesting, how profound. I really like that word choice and the word picture it gives me. I realize many of us cry, but usually not in public. We save our tears for the bedroom or the closet -- somewhere we can go where no one can see our tears (side note: why we shy away from crying in public I'm not sure. Crying is a sign our hearts our beating and we can feel emotion. As one person put it: crying is a sign you're alive.)
Anyhow, we know what physical tears are, but there are also those times we go about our everyday lives "crying." Although we look put together on the outside, we are hurting inside shedding quiet tears no one hears or sees. I think quiet tears might be worse than regular tears. Regular tears are a visible sign to others all is not well in our world, but quiet tears are easier to hide. No one seems to care or notice.
So take note: although things may seem fine on the outside, all may not be well on the inside. Be kind to others. Act with love and compassion. And if you find yourself crying quiet tears, don't be ashamed. Don't be shy. We all go through rough patches and seasons of hurt and loss. Crying is a beautiful emotion. Let's embrace it!
