Thank you to the Veteran. It is because of what you do that enables us civilians to live the lives we live. Thank YOU for your sacrifice. ~ And thank you to the families of those who serve. Your loved ones would not be able to do what they do without your support, encouragement and love. May God bless you richly today and may He make His face shine upon you ever so brightly.
Nonetheless, I still have a patriotic heart and the utmost respect for those who have served and those who are currently serving our country to defend FREEDOM around the world.
One of my sisters currently serves in the United States Air Force. Over the past 12 years, I've seen firsthand the sacrifices she has made in order to serve her country. It has not been easy.
And I have friends in the armed services, some of whom have given the ultimate sacrifice -- they have lost their lives in the line of duty. They have given up their lives in order to fight for and defend FREEDOM. They have sacrificed so that you AND I might be able to live in comfort and security.
Just ponder that for a second.
Don't get me wrong. I'm guilty too. I can gripe and complain about the pettiest things. And that's when we need to do a reality check, like BIG time! C'mon, what do we really have to complain about?
According to a wealth distribution article I read, if you own a car AND a computer AND have internet access in your home, you're among the top 3% of the richest people in the world!
People, we are complaining about "first-world" problems. We need to do a reality check!
So instead of complaining today that your burger is slightly overdone, go thank a veteran. Hug a loved one. Think outside yourself! Count your blessings.
Life is a Gift. Treasure it.
