It was a simple yet profound day. A day full of activity, but peace coupled with it. A day of living aware, with my eyes open noticing my behavior and feelings as well as being in-tune with the feelings of those around me. I didn't just go through the day. I ENGAGED the day.
What if we started living everyday like this?
What If we began to see the profound in the simple? The simple in the profound?
Living with awareness of self, God and others?
Being in-tune to our feelings and behaviors as well as those of others?
Would we be more effective, productive, have more impact on the world around us?....
It's something to consider.
And for me in this simple, yet profound day, I had an "ah-ha" moment. Things in my mind started to click. I was able to put some life puzzle pieces together. Connect the dots. See the roadmap more clearly. Get a picture of what it is I want to do with my life--what my calling is--how I can help people.
These moments don't occur everyday, so when they do we want to bottle them up, save them, hold onto them, capture them! The "ah-ha" is invigorating and motivating. It affirms me in many of the decisions I've made; makes sense of my past; and propels me to forge ahead with a clearer direction to where I'm going!
I'm seeing how my past life experiences, my strengths and my passions intersect to meet a need in the world. There is nothing better than that! By no means do I have it all figured out, but I feel like I have the next few mile markers in place. The fog has lifted a bit and God has given me a vision for my future and the direction it will take.
Yes! Woo-hoo! Yippee! I love epiphanies! I love "ah-ha" moments! I love connecting the dots to make sense of our past to get a clearer direction for our future.
Now these moments happen organically; they can not be forced. That is why it's key for us to live with eyes wide open looking for the blessings, looking to find the profound in the simple, day-to-day. You never know when your next "ah-ha" moment will be.
Look for it. Search for it.
